Congratulations to Tom North in Year 10 who has secured a place in the Welsh International Basketball Squad for his age group. This is a massive achievement and it is great to see his talent identified at such an elite level.
This week sees the start of Fairtrade Fortnight. The theme this year is the ‘Big Swap’ encouraging us all to swap non-Fairtrade goods for Fairtrade goods such as bananas, cotton socks and tea.
In the week leading up to February half-term students from Years 7-11 took part in the Inter-house Badmintion Competition. Congratulations to Excalibur who currently lead on house points.
Congratulations to the Beckfoot Blizzards Cheer Squad who have won the Bradford Schools Cheerleading Competition! They competed with eight other schools from across the Bradford district so they have done exceptionally well.
Congratulations to the students who took part in the Bingley Swimming Club Gala for Bradford Schools on Friday 5 February, they came second in nine of their seventeen races and were placed third overall.
A glass partition wall designed by our GCSE Graphic Communication students is now on display at the newly opened Canalside Healthcare Centre, Bingley. 38 designs were submitted from students on the theme of ‘Active Bingley’.
We are proud to announce that students have raised an amazing £2,500 for the Haitian Earthquake Appeal. Student leaders spoke out in assemblies, prepared presentations for tutor time and encouraged fundraising intiatives. You can read more on the Student Leadership Group blog.
Every year more and more ‘Beckfooters’ take part in the Christmas Concert showcasing their fantastic musical talent. This year the show featured an eclectic mix of styles, featuring small and large ensembles, new and more established groups and festive and non-festive items.

Farewell to our leaving 6th Form studentsWe said farewell to our leaving 6th Form students at an excellent 6th Form Prom at the Midland Hotel on Thursday. Superbly organised by 6th Form Council, we all had a great time. The food was good, presentations were suitably embarrassing for those that won and there were a lot of smiles.
